SECTION 1: Basics and ADR Regulations
Hermes legt großen Wert auf Ihren Schutz während Ihrer täglichen Arbeit. Da über Hermes viele verschiedene Sendungsarten verschickt werden, darunter auch Gefahrgut, ist eine Basisunterweisung für alle Beteiligten verpflichtend.
Es muss absolute Klarheit darüber herrschen, was zugestellt werden darf und was nicht. Der Transport erfolgt ausschließlich nach den Vorschriften der „ADR“ (Europäisches Übereinkommen über die internationale Beförderung gefährlicher Güter auf der Straße). Die Einhaltung dieser Sondervorschriften ist für die Sicherheit im Logistikprozess unerlässlich.
SECTION 2: Permitted Shipments (LQ & SV)
At Hermes, dangerous goods are transported in limited quantities (LQ) and in compliance with special provisions (SV). These include:
LQ (Limited Quantity):
Recognizable by the diamond symbol (black corners).
Minimum size of the marking: 10 x 10 cm (for small packages 5 x 5 cm).
Inner and outer packaging must always be present.
Maximum gross weight: 30 kg per package (for trays with stretch/shrink wrap max. 20 kg).
Special Provisions (SV):SV 188 / SV 400: Lithium-ion and lithium-metal batteries (e.g., in cell phones, laptops).
SV 388 / SV 666: E-bikes and e-scooters.
SV 119 / SV 291: Cooling and air conditioning units.
SECTION 3: Prohibited Shipments and Hazard Symbols
Hermes does NOT transport shipments classified as dangerous that do not fall under LQ or SV regulations. The following goods are strictly prohibited:
Explosive substances: Fireworks, sparklers, ammunition, or pyrotechnic objects.
Flammable solids: Such as matches.
Vehicle batteries: Large batteries for cars or trucks are excluded from transport.
Hazard labels (diamonds): Shipments with diamond symbols of classes 1 to 8 (e.g., Toxic, Corrosive, Flammable Gas) must not be accepted.
Special prohibitions:
"E" marking: Excepted Quantities are excluded.
Radioactive substances: (UN 2910) are prohibited.
Dry ice: (UN 1845) Carbon dioxide, solid.
Class 9: Miscellaneous dangerous substances (striped symbol) are also excluded. Important: Always watch for these symbols when scanning and loading. If you see any of these prohibited signs, the package must not be transported!
